Kala’s story: My heavy periods
“I’m a bleeder. I have to change my super tampon every two or three hours on heavy days, sometimes every hour. It’s exhausting and expensive.
“Over the four days of my period I’d go through about 20 super tampons and 12 pads – and tampons cost a lot!
“I trialed Just’nCase at home. I wore the full briefs on the heaviest day of my period and they were incredible. They completely absorbed the blood and I felt dry, with no leakage from the sides or in my jeans. I checked the odour and they were pretty odour-free, which was also good. I’m amazed that they went through the night with no leakage on the bedsheets.
“Now I wear them every period – they're all I use. I don’t have to buy pads – I don’t even have to think about them. It’s so liberating!
“I usually wear the lace ones on my early days and towards the end of my period, when I have lighter bleeding, and I’ll often wear them right through for 24 hours. They’re super comfortable and the shape is really flattering. I actually feel quite sexy in them.
“I also wear the high cut ones on lighter days – I like that they're quite streamlined and they hold you in a bit across your tummy.
“Then the full briefs are fantastic for my really heavy days when I need the extra absorbency. They have a slightly thicker absorbent panel than the others, which I find reassuring. You’re asking it to absorb a lot of blood so you want to look at it and feel it can deliver that.
“The full briefs will comfortably take 12 to 15 hours of heavy bleeding (I would normally have gone through four or five super tampons in that time). I’ll often have a shower in the evening and then put on another pair at night.
“I just wish I’d known about period underwear sooner. They’re revolutionary. I may never use a tampon again. Hooray!”
Sarah’s story: Living with wee leaks
“I was 47 when I started to get regular bladder leakage. I thought it was a condition reserved for older people, maybe over 65 or even 70, who were at an age where the body was in natural decline.
“The first time I experienced uncontrollable bladder leakage, I was at the supermarket just shopping for fruit when I felt my bladder give and a warm stream start to trickle down my leg. I was able to hold some of it back, but I was so embarrassed I couldn’t bring myself to shop at that supermarket for a long time.
“Bladder leaks started to happen more and more frequently after that. I became too afraid to go to the gym because any sort of physical exertion seemed to make me pee uncontrollably. My social life suffered as I couldn’t enjoy myself when I was worried about a laugh making me leak. Anything that put even a little bit of pressure on my bladder seemed to make me just go!
“My doctor suggested I try a brand of reusable, absorbent underwear designed to manage multiple bladder leaks across a day, as a way to make me feel confident to stay active. Confitex was the brand – and to this day, I don’t know what I would have done without them. When I wore them, I stopped being continually anxious and physically stressed and could actually focus on things beyond my bladder leakage.
“Confitex underwear gave me the freedom to get on with what I wanted and needed to do without having to worry about embarrassing leaks. Although they didn’t stop my bladder from giving out, wearing Confitex meant that I knew that my leaks were supported and the more I wore them, the more confident I felt to get stuck in to kegel exercises, socialising and getting physically fit again. Although I still experience the odd leak, I control my bladder more than it controls me.”
Pat’s story: “I’m not ashamed of being incontinent.”
“I have shown my Confitex products to my 84-year-old sister and my 60-year-old daughter. Like me, they each had four children and are now suffering from incontinence.
“I use only your products and wear them day and night so I can relax knowing I won’t leak all over the place. The new ones are very comfortable, having the stretchy material rather than the elasticised legs and waistband that used to cut into me a bit. They are far less bulky as well, which means my waistline is slimmer. They’re easier to dry and lighter in weight if you are travelling away from home for more than a few days.
“I’m very happy! Thank you Confitex!
“I’m happy for you to use my feedback, and I don’t mind my name being used. I’m not ashamed of being incontinent. I do kegels every day, go to tai chi twice a week and have a personal trainer at the gym for two 30-minute sessions a week. Like most octogenarians, I am getting a bit less able than before, but I still lead an okay life, watching my grandchildren playing sport every weekend!
“Best wishes, Pat.”
Emma's comparative review of Confitex's new Just'nCase Full Brief Extra
Having previously bought Confitex briefs and after recently buying four pairs of the new Just'nCase Extra in Beige and returning to buy another four pairs in Black, Emma was kind enough to provide a comparison:
I have been wearing confitex pants for two years and recently ordered the new Full Brief style
I was extremely pleased to receive the new style underwear for the following reasons:
1. The fabric is elasticised which gives greater comfort.
2. The top is now continuous with the body of the pants which provides far more comfort than the previous elastic waist band.
3. The gusset is narrower and neater fitting and not as bulky.
Just’nCase Full Briefs with Extra Absorbency offer superior protection when you need a little more reassurance – on heavy period days or for moderate bladder leakage.
Independent lab testing shows they absorb more than ten tampons.
For bladder leakage, Just’nCase Full Briefs offer protection approximately equivalent to single-use pads such as Poise Regular Pads.
If you have little or no bladder control, we’re sorry our underwear will not meet your needs.
To provide transparency and guidance in a largely unregulated industry characterised by unsubstantiated absorbency claims, we commissioned leading international standards laboratory UL to subject our products to stringent testing. Testing showed that Just'nCase Full Briefs with EXTRA Absorbency absorb at least 50ml of liquid at a speed of at least 2.69 ml/sec. (In fact, the total absorbency verified by UL was substantially higher than this, but we have chosen to more accurately reflect the volume that can be accommodated without leakage in a real-life situation that allows for gravity, movement and compression.) Click here for the full results.
Wondering how our underwear compare to disposable pads, liners and tampons? We commissioned independent standards testing laboratory UL* to test them against leading single-use paper products. Here's where they fit on a scale of absorbency.
* The following is a graphic depiction of comparative results based on UL Laboratories testing of Confitex and selected leading brands of single-use absorbent liners and pads undertaken January-April 2020.
To work effectively, it’s important that your underwear fits snugly. Although our briefs are made from a forgiving stretch fabric to offer sizing flexibility, we strongly advise that you measure yourself before ordering, rather than just guessing.
Our sizing categories (S, XL etc) are based on international standards and can be used as a general guide, but actual measurements are more likely to result in the perfect fit.
Many of our new customers like to buy one pair to trial in the privacy of their home, then once they know they’ve got the right size and absorbency they come back to buy multiple pairs.
Measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks, keeping tape parallel with the floor, then consult our chart.

Frequently asked questions
Which level of absorbency do I need?
Just’nCase Full Briefs with Extra Absorbency provide convenience and peace of mind to women experiencing heavy period days, post-baby bleeding or light to medium incontinence. They absorb at least five super tampons’ worth of flow. On your light days, or if you have light bladder leakage you may prefer to try our High Cut Briefs with Everyday Absorbency or our Lace Full Briefs with Everyday Absorbency, which absorb and retain up to five regular tampons’ worth of flow. Some women like to have a few pairs of each on hand so they can wear the lighter version for everyday use, with the option of a higher absorbency at night, when exercising or when they require extra reassurance. If you have little or no bladder control, we’re sorry our underwear will not meet your needs. Please discuss your options with your health professional or carer.
Are they cost effective?
Designed to be worn again and again, Just’nCase briefs can be thrown in the washing machine and tumble dryer and have been lab-tested to withstand as many washing and drying cycles as ordinary underwear. They cost about the same as a pair of designer panties and last just as long. And because you’re not buying tampons, pads or liners as well, you’ll actually save money in the long run! Find out more on our blog.
Why are they better for the planet?
Unlike single-use pads and liners, Just’nCase underwear contain no plastics, making them an environmentally friendly solution to life’s little leaks. They can be washed and reused over and over again, reducing the amount of rubbish you send to landfill, and when you finally do wear them out, the fact that they’re plastic-free means they’ll biodegrade naturally. How long do they take to dry?
Our absorbent underwear can be hand or machine washed just like your ordinary underwear – and because they contain our patented leakproof textile instead of the layer of PU plastic used by most other brands, you can safely pop them in the tumble dryer without impacting their leakproof performance. They can also be dried in an airing closet or on an indoor drying rack. They will take a little longer than ordinary underwear to dry – about the same as a pair of thick cotton sports socks.
Why wouldn’t I keep using pads, liners or tampons instead?
Just’nCase absorbent underwear are an environmentally friendly solution to life’s little leaks, and many women tell us they prefer the convenience and comfort of period and pee-proof panties over single-use alternatives. You won’t be sending wads of plastic-lined pads and liners to the landfill each week, and when you finally do wear them out, they’ll biodegrade naturally because they contain no plastic. Women also tell us they’re saving money by not having to constantly buy pads, liners or tampons, and they prefer the discretion of ordering our underwear online, rather than braving the supermarket checkout. We know our absorbent underwear are life-changing because you tell us so all the time – read some of your stories here.

Great underwear for those of us who have bladder leak issues.
Look like normal underwear
I loved the fabric They wash easily .
It does feel a little bulky, but I definitely feel more protected. Wore without any other period product and no leaks 🙌 I think I would wear it more overnight.
Hoped these would allow me to avoid buying pads altogether-but unfortunately not- probably works for very light flow / leaks but absolutely nothing more!!
Shame as I’d really Really hoped these would work. Very expensive mistake for me & sadly back to relying on pads.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate it can be frustrating finding a product that meets individual requirements and are sorry that it was not suitable for your needs.
We are very conscious that assessing absorbency is not necessarily straight-forward, so we have provided a resource on our site comparing our underwear to paper products which provides a benchmark which we hope people will find useful. It can be found under the 'Absorbency' tab.
We also encourage customers in the first instance to purchase just one pair to test in the privacy of their home to ensure the product meets their expectations and personal requirements
Again, thank you for your honest feedback.

Wonderfully fitting to my body, light and comfortable. No unsightly bulges. Does lose some elasticity over time. Takes a lot of drying time, though, so best to own enough pairs to allow for at least a couple of days from when washed.
Love the full brief. Love the style, Love the absorbency and the confidence it gives throughout the day, without any worries of any leakage or accidents especially with sneezing or laughing! No smell No more liners just rinse. the briefs & I know that I am doing my bit for the environment
I was a big fan of the original design so I was disappointed at first with the new design; the gusset placement worried me as I’ve found most gussets don’t reach high enough and I end up with leaks. I was pleasantly surprised though; the gusset was plenty high enough and I could sleep with them on comfortably.
I tested them out for 24 hours, I have moderate-heavy bladder leakage, and they held up perfectly and masked the smell exceptionally well. I will be buying several more!
Obviously they’re a little expensive, but well worth the investment to me.
I was rally wondering if these underwear could replace wearing pads every day. Wow was I surprised!!! I have moderate bladder leaks but now with these underwear I no longer need to wear a pad every day. Yes they are pricey but the money I save on pads and the comfort is worth it!!!
and light bladder leakage underwear
Absorbs at least 25ml – more than five tampons!
