ABOUT CONFITEX'S TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY

What is Confitex's textile technology?

We have created a revolutionary multi-layered absorbent and leakproof textile, which features in the design and manufacture of our high-performance reusable consumer products including absorbent underwear and nursing pads. Find out more about our textile technology on our blog.

How does Confitex's absorbent textile work?

Confitex’s unique absorbent and leakproof textile features a high-tech multi-layered structure:

- The soft, hypoallergenic inner warp layer wicks moisture away from the body, keeping you dry and hygienic all day long. Our Extra absorbency products have a second layer of this fabric for even quicker wicking and extra security.
- The revolutionary centre layer is highly absorbent for maximum moisture retention and reassurance.
- The patented outer layer has been lab-verified waterproof, so there’s no need to worry about leaks. Unlike most other brands (which tend to shrink and warp when heated, leaving them vulnerable to leaks) it can safely be tumble-dried without any reduction in absorbency or leakproof performance.

Find out more about our textile technology on our blog.

Are Confitex products eco-friendly?

Yes, our products are a more environmentally sustainable solution for life's little leaks than single use products. They are all reusable and washable, so switching to them will prevent single-use pads, liners, shields and guards from piling up in landfill, where they can take up to 500 years to biodegrade. Find out more on our blog.

Do Confitex textiles contain harmful chemicals?

Confitex products have been extensively tested by leading international laboratory UL and found to be free of potentially harmful substances such as PFOS or PFOA, AZO dyes, organotic compounds, DMFu and CMR. From the outset of designing our textile technology, we have maintained a very strong focus on making our textiles safe for consumers and kind to the environment. With these goals in mind we have sought to avoid significant chemical processes during manufacturing, which is why we dye our yarns prior to textile knitting, rather than once the textiles have been created. This approach uses less processing, resulting in lower PH levels that ensure consumers are not adversely impacted when wearing our textiles over their sensitive body parts. All our products are made from hypoallergenic textiles to ensure they're kind to your skin. This means they contain relatively few or no potentially irritating substances and so minimise the possibility of an allergic response.

How does Confitex's absorbent textile resist odour?

The inner layer of our absorbent, leakproof textile has quick-dry technology, drawing moisture away from the skin, reducing the time bacteria is able to grow and preventing odour while worn.

Does it lose its absorbency over time?

The absorbency of our textile does not decrease over time. Our underwear has been laboratory tested and proven to last as long as ordinary underwear without any deterioration in absorbency.

Where are your products made?

Our products are manufactured in China. Due to the complexity of producing our patented absorbent and waterproof textile, we manage our factory and production first-hand so we can more closely oversee quality assurance and ensure fuller transparency. Our factory and its suppliers are independently audited each year to ensure they meet international Business Social Compliance Initiative best practice across areas including ethical behaviour, waste minimisation, workplace health and safety, decent working hours and fair remuneration. To protect against child labour, no employees are aged under 18.

ABOUT CONFITEX FOR MEN

Is Confitex for Men right for me?

Our absorbent and leakproof washable trunks are made for men with light to medium bladder leakage. If you have little or no bladder control or if you have bowel incontinence, we're sorry our underwear will not suit your needs – please discuss your options with your healthcare professional or carer. For more information about the absorbency of our products click here. To read real-life stories see our blog.

How do Confitex for Men underwear work?

Confitex for Men trunks are ordinary cloth underwear with the added bonus of a contoured pouch lined with Confitex Technology’s patented absorbent and leakproof textile. Find out more about our patented textile technology here and our independent lab testing here.

What level of absorbency do I need?

Confitex for Men offers three levels of absorbency to suit different needs.

EVERYDAY: Perfect for when you leak just a little when you laugh, cough or sneeze.
EVERYDAY PLUS: Thicker pouch-only protection against little wee leaks.
EXTRA: For peace of mind when it’s more of a burst than a splash.

For more information about the absorbency of our products click here. To read real-life stories see our blog.

Please note, our underwear is not designed for full bladder voids or faecal incontinence – please discuss your options with your healthcare professional or carer.

How do I choose the right size?

For optimum performance, Confitex for Men underwear needs to fit snugly around the hips and top of the thighs. We strongly advise that you measure yourself before ordering, rather than just guessing. Our sizing categories (S, XL etc) are a general guide based on the same international standards as Calvin Klein underwear, but they may not align with your usual sizing, so actual measurements are more likely to result in the perfect fit. Please be aware that for hygiene reasons we generally do not offer refunds on our underwear, so if you are not sure if you have the right size, we recommend purchasing one trial pair to check the sizing first. Click here to consult our sizing guide.

Can I sleep in my Confitex for Men underwear?

Levels of incontinence can vary enormously, and people are often not aware of how much they leak, especially at night. Some might need to get up and go to the toilet in the night, whereas others may experience incidental leakage. Our underwear is likely to handle the latter but not the former. Given this huge variability we don't recommend our underwear as a night solution for everyone, but we know many people find that it works for them, so it really is a matter of an individual's personal situation.

How often should I change my underwear?

Your own comfort is the best guidance. Depending on your level of leakage, you may or may not need to change into a new pair throughout the day, or put on a fresh pair for overnight protection. You may initially feel some dampness but as the absorbent textile wicks the moisture away from your skin this will dissipate. If your underwear does feel excessively damp, it may be a sign you need to change your underwear or perhaps select an increased absorbency.

Can I wear a single-use shield or guard inside my Confitex for Men underwear?

Our underwear is designed to be a complete and simple everyday solution to life’s little leaks. It is not designed to be worn with another pad, liner, diaper, guard or shield, and will fit better and function more effectively on its own.

Can Confitex for Men underwear be used for bowel incontinence?

No, our underwear is not suitable for bowel incontinence. Please discuss your options with your healthcare professional or carer.

Do I still need to go to the bathroom?

Yes you do. Our underwear are designed for light to medium bladder leakage, not full bladder voids.

Why do absorbent underwear cost more than single-use guards and shields?

The original purchase price of a pair of our absorbent underwear may be higher than a pack of single-use guards or shields, but because you can wash, dry and reuse them over and over again they will work out cheaper in the long run. Our underwear cost about the same as a pair of Calvin Klein trunks, and last just as long. Plus you're helping save the planet! Read more on our blog.

ABOUT JUST 'N CASE NURSING PADS

Are Just'nCase nursing pads right for me?

Our super absorbent washable nursing pads are designed to help new mums manage the inevitable leaks that come with breastfeeding. They can be worn during pregnancy to capture colostrum leakage, and are handy to have in your hospital bag for when your milk comes in after birth. Because they're washable and reusable they can be worn throughout breastfeeding and weaning, saving you money and helping prevent single-use pads from piling up in landfill. Find out more here.

How do they work?

Just'nCase Contoured Nursing Pads are designed to slip inside the cups of your nursing bra or nursing tank to provide an extra layer of defence against let-down and leaks. A silicone matrix pattern on the outside of each pad grips to the inside of your bra cup, holding them in place. Inside each pad, Confitex Technology’s unique high-tech layered absorbent textile quickly wicks moisture away from your skin and captures it in our unique leakproof GravityDriTM pocket at the base of the pad, keeping you dry and hygienic. Find out more about our patented textile technology here and our independent lab testing here.

How absorbent are they?

Just'nCase Contoured Nursing Pads use Confitex's Extra absorbency textile to provide maximum reassurance against leakage. Find out more on our blog.

How do I wear them?

Before use, wash and dry your Just'nCase Contoured Nursing Pad according to instructions provided. Place them inside the cups of your nursing bra or nursing tank with the flat edge toward the bottom of the cup and your nipple approximately two thirds of the way up the curve of the pad.

Will they show through my shirt?

Our contoured pads look similar to a moulded T-shirt bra when worn under clothes. The extra layer of protection prevents nipple show-through and provides security against leakage.

How often should I change them?

Every breastfeeding experience is unique, so everyone’s nursing pad needs will be different and your own needs are likely to change as your breastfeeding journey progresses. For hygiene reasons they should be changed at least once every 24 hours, but some women with heavier leakage prefer to change them more frequently. If they feel heavy and saturated that's a good indication you need a new pair.

Can I wear them overnight?

Yes, it's fine to wear them at night inside a nursing bra or nursing tank.

Do reusable nursing pads cost more than single-use pads?

The original purchase price of reusable nursing pads may be higher than a pack of single-use pads, but because you can wash, dry and reuse them over and over again they will work out cheaper in the long run – plus you're helping save the planet! Read more on our blog.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Are your products reusable and washable?

Yes, our fabric underwear are exactly like your ordinary underwear, but with the added bonus of an absorbent panel to collect and retain leaks. They can be hand or machine washed and line or tumble dried, just like ordinary underwear. Our nursing pads can also be hand or machine washed and line or tumble dried. For full care instructions.

Do they need to be washed before use?

Yes, our products must be washed and dried before use to activate their full absorbency. Remove the hygiene sticker then wash and dry according to our care instructions.

How long will they last?

Our products have been lab-tested and proven to withstand as many wash and dry cycles as ordinary underwear without any impact on performance.

How do I wash and dry them?

Our products can be thrown in the washing machine and dryer with your regular wash. Turn underwear inside out before washing and drying. Rinse after use then wash on delicate cycle below 40°C/105°F, or hand wash separately if you prefer. Dry away from direct sunlight or tumble dry on low heat. They can also be dried in an airing closet or on an indoor drying rack or heated towel rail. Do not bleach, do not use fabric conditioner, do not dry clean.

How long do they take to dry?

Drying time will vary depending on drying method. Because of our textile's absorbent properties it is likely to take a little longer than ordinary underwear to dry (about the same length of time in a tumble dryer as a pair of thick sports socks).

Can I wash them with other clothes?

Our products can be conveniently machine washed and tumble dried with your normal laundry. Just rinse after use then pop them straight into the washing machine or set them aside until your next wash day. Wash on delicate cycle below 40°C/105°F, or hand wash if you prefer. Dry thoroughly on the line, in a tumble dryer on low heat, or in an airing or drying cupboard before reuse. Do not bleach, do not use fabric conditioner, do not dry clean.

How do I get rid of odour build-up?

Like most high-tech sports fabrics, our products may need refreshing from time to time. Submerge in a solution of three parts water to one part white vinegar and allow to soak for about 30 minutes. Drain, then wash and dry thoroughly according to care instructions.
